Book Review: Rise Up! The Art of Protest By Jo Rippon

Rise Up takes a look at some of the subjects that have been a cause for protest since the early 20th century, and the powerful artwork that has accompanied them. The posters are strong, bold and convey important message on a range of issues, they are designed to be eye-catching, thought provoking and direct.

Artwork is included from protests for women’s rights, peace and Amnesty International amongst many others and we learn a little about when and why each poster was designed. Genuinely fascinating to find out about the history behind them and how they have inspired people to stand up for what they believe in.
